The flagship of the entire production, the large-scale works express to the maximum the artistic creativity and style developed over the years by Battista Rea. Designed to radically transform urban and outdoor contexts, these creations revolutionize the relationship between space and people, stimulating the imagination and increasing the liveability of every scenario. The large works signed by Battista Rea combine audacity and visionary spirit with careful attention to every detail: the beauty of the creations lies in the wonder they are able to inspire both when observed as a whole, and when examined by every single centimeter.
The Dragon Spiro
Location: Rome
Year: 2012
Client: private
An impressive, innovative and dynamic playground. It is a dragon 20 meters long and 2.5 meters high, entirely covered with more than 7,000 scales of mosaics pressed by hand one by one. The dragon enters in and exits from the earth, as if the surface were fluid, configuring a functional and habitable sculpture. By climbing on the dragon’s tongue, it is possible to reach a niche inside the head.
A swing is installed under the main ring, while the final part of the composition is a hybrid between a tail and a slide. The landscape project is completed by the installation of mosaic benches, some
of which are in the shape of a goat with real gold horns.

The Garden of the Woods
Location: Capena (RM)
Year: 2009
Client: Municipality of Capena
A fantastic garden in which every shape and color is capable of surprising. A series of giant benches covered with colored mosaics and ornaments of various kinds, the result of the collaboration with Rosina Wachtmeister. The shapes follow soft lines in perfect harmony with the natural landscape that surrounds them, a setting embellished by the imposing presence of snakes, dragons, chameleons, toads and turtles.
The installation, rigorously covered in mosaic, is located in the medieval village of the Municipality of Capena, on the outskirts of Rome, in the heart of a splendid valley.
Gazebo of love
Location: Capena (RM)
Year: 2009

A nest in which to experience art in intimacy, in an exceptional setting between the historic walls of the medieval fortress. The combination of mosaics and glass harmonizes with the chromatic changes of the surrounding landscape as the seasons pass by.

The giant
Location: Capena (RM)
Year: 2018
Client: Municipality of Capena, Wurth, Salgrotta
The result of a collaboration with the Hungarian artist Hervé Loranth Ervin, the installation “Il Momento” is a 9-meter-high giant, located in the village of Capena. It represents the man who waits: with one leg inside the square, symbolically anchored to his past, he leans out at the same time looking forward, beyond the door, towards the panorama, projected towards the future. A metaphor of human existence and the experiences that each individual goes through during the life. The subject depicted is aware of his roots and relates to himself in peace and harmony.

The idea of the Touch Cow was born to help the public to rediscover the sensations of touch, through a visual and three-dimensional journey, following an itinerary of shapes: cusps, curves, petals, mirrors, nature, geometries. Patterns that, like a velvet fabric, reveal their character with
intrigue and pleasure to those who touch them. The Touch Cow was elected testimonial of the Cow Parade Roma 2010, the most original and fun international contemporary open-air exhibition. The work was sponsored by Alfa International and subsequently purchased by the Cremonini Group.
